As a key Albanian partner, the Mediterranean University of Albania (UMSH) participated in the LAIA project kick-off meeting hosted by the project coordinator, the University of Piraeus, in Athens (February–March 2024).
UMSH delegates contributed actively to the initial planning discussions, bringing forward the perspective of the future host institution for the AI Master's program in Albania. This participation helped cement the collaborative framework between all consortium partners — from Greece, Denmark, Albania, and Kosovo — and clarified UMSH's responsibilities for the upcoming work packages.
The kick-off meeting marked a foundational step in the project's journey toward developing a master-level curriculum in Artificial Intelligence and establishing AI laboratory infrastructure across the Western Balkans.
